Voter Info Card / Voter ID

Voter Information Card

Voter information cards are furnished at no cost to all registered voters. The card contains information regarding a voter's registration record. Voter information cards are NOT required for identification to vote at the polls. Instead, a valid photo/signature ID, as listed in the following section on this page, is required to vote at the polls. A voter may receive a free replacement voter information card at any time by following the instructions on the Online Voter Registration Application, or can find some of the same information by Looking Up Your Voting Information. When an existing record is updated, the Supervisor of Elections will issue a new voter information card that replaces all previous voter information cards. Cards are typically mailed within a week or so of receiving an application or update, assuming there are no issues. Voters registering before their 18th birthday will receive their card after they turn 18.

Voter ID Requirement

Whether voting in person during Early Voting or on Election Day, you will be asked to provide at the polls a valid photo identification with signature. Any one of the following current and valid photo IDs will be accepted:

  • Florida driver’s license
  • Florida identification card issued by DHSMV
  • United States passport
  • Debit or credit card
  • Military identification
  • Student identification
  • Retirement center identification
  • Neighborhood association identification
  • Public assistance identification
  • Veteran health identification card issued by the United States Department of Veterans Affairs
  • License to carry a concealed weapon or firearm issued pursuant to s. 790.06
  • Employee identification card issued by any branch, department, agency, or entity of the Federal Government, the state, a county, or a municipality.

If your photo ID does not include your signature, you will be asked to provide another ID that has your signature. Voters will be asked to sign their name for signature comparison. The ID for signature verification does not have to be from the list of valid photo IDs listed above.

If you do not bring proper ID, or your eligibility cannot be determined, you can still vote a provisional ballot. As long as you are eligible and voted in the proper precinct, your provisional ballot will count provided the signature on your provisional ballot matches the signature in your registration record.
